Binding with Covers

Binding with Covers

There are two ways to assemble a book with covers:

  • Collate signatures with covers before trimming.
  • Collate signatures with slip sheets, then swap slip sheets for actual covers after trimming is complete.

When printed cover sheets are received, we ask that there is enough gutter on all four sides to allow us to cut them to match the corresponding signatures. By sizing covers correctly, including any lip, we can ensure a speedy and accurate trim. A cover that is smaller than its signatures risks not jogging correctly.
